US Field Application Scientist, Cell based assay technology

The Company
Our client supplies novel laboratory scale instrumentation, screening services and develops custom automation for life sciences companies spanning the healthcare, biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.
Due to expansion they now seek a US Field Application Scientist to support sales and customers of their high content screening/cell based assay technology.

The role
The position will be based from the Boston office and will cover the entire US and Canada. The majority of existing customers are based in Boston, Philadelphia, DC and Chicago as well as the Bay area.

The successful candidate will act as the key interface between the US sales team and end-users in the customer base to provide expert level product support functions in the field, at conferences and exhibitions and at workshops.

• Reporting to the USA Sales Manager you will be responsible for:-
• Supporting existing customers with application development and troubleshooting
• Pre-sales instrument presentations at customer site/conferences
• Running either on site or remote instrument demos
• Training new and existing customers on the technology
• Ensuring post technology training uptake
• Profiling customers and identifying potential sales opportunities
• Educating customers on new application areas and developments
• Supporting strategic collaborations locally
• Assisting with conference strategy and technical presentations
• Communicate product and applications knowledge with the UK application team and product managers

The person must have:-

• A minimum Degree or equivalent experience in a Biological Discipline
• PhD or MSc or equivalent is strongly preferred
• Cell Biology knowledge is essential
• At least 2 year’s experience of working in High throughput Screening, High Content Screening, Cell Based Assay Development laboratories is essential OR equivalent Applications/Sales experience
• Ability & willingness to travel extensively
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
